Love. Lives. Aware. A simple 3-word sentence in Lisa Bevere's #adamantbook. Love lives aware of God. As supreme, worthy of our lives as worship in thankfulness of His love and sacrifice just to have us near. In obedience to the Word He declared and sent as a lamp to light our path to keep us from wandering aimlessly or falling out of safety. Love lives aware of others. This was the context of Lisa's point here. That we can live in a way that cares more for others than our right to exercise our own personal freedom. That we can choose to live such a life of Love that we dont choose the actions that put others at risk. "Love restrains itself to build others up." Love lives aware of self. I was recently at a YA meeting and the topic was dating, more specifically, how important is emotional health to dating. Love does not deny issues or ignore problems, it seeks the solution and is willing to put in the work for it. One who is not self-aware (not self-centered but knows who they are deeply, their goals, dreams, triggers and areas of needed development and maturity) are like swimming in the shallow end. It may seem safe, but doesn't have much to offer. Think about Jesus' way of summing up all the Law and all the Prophets in a simple command... "Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’" Matthew 22:37‭-‬39 Love God. Love others. Love self. Love. Lives. Aware. 💕 in what ways can you live more aware through the lens of God's love, for Him, others and yourself? #savoringsingle
"...nothing but the blood of Jesus." Two things we cannot have outside of Christ, and as a generation so desperately need. Hope. Peace. Hebrews 6 talks about HOPE being a strong anchor for our souls. Steady, sure, unmoving. This stands in high contrast to the feelings-dominated up-and-down roller coaster of truths that are redefined at the wind of opinion and the wreckage it leaves behind. This anchor that holds us steady is that God has given us His promise + oath, so that those who run to Him for refuge find confidence in His faithfulness because God is unchanging and cannot lie. These two truths keep us from living spiritually dull and indifferent lives, hopeless lives. And PEACE. Isaiah 26:3 ensures us that we are kept in peace when our minds are fixed on Him and who He is. The enemy knows our sure downfall when we begin to doubt God and turn away. We lose hope and are filled with despair. We lose peace and are filled with anxiety, worry and fear. The work of the enemy is apparent. It always steals. Always kills. Always destroys. If this is you, it's not too late. His HOPE + PEACE have never been withdrawn out of punishment, your eyes just need to find the face of Jesus once again. His blood. His cross. His love. His steadfast pursuit to set you free to experience the fullness of life He designed you uniquely to enjoy. Find 5 verses that declare the opposite of the lie the enemy has sold you, focus on God and who He is, and your HOPE + PEACE will return, even if your circumstance is seemingly unchanged. #savoringsingle #hopeandpeace #nothingbutthebloodofJesus
We see what we choose to see. That fence that we think keeps us out is really what keeps us in... in safety. in blessing. in favor. in covering. He won't give us: Anointing without the surrender that produces power. Riches without the stewardship that brings prosperity. Knowledge without obedience that applies wisdom. Influence without humility for genuine impact. Sex without covenant that builds true intimacy. He's not keeping the blessing from us, He's keeping us in the measure of blessing we are capable of handling. Want more? Increase surrender, stewardship, obedience, humility and covenant. Feel like you're left out of His 'goods'? How does your side of the equation hold up? Everything comes through partnership with Him so that nothing comes outside of relationship to Him, and if it does it ceases to be for our good. It doesn't take a long look at our society to see that when our aim is the target without the process we end up empty handed anyway. No amount of power, riches, knowledge, influence or relational connection can truly satisfy the deepest longings of our heart. Only Jesus can, made in His image we were uniquely created to need Him. So next time you see a "fence" I encourage you to ask God what harm He's keeping you out of and what blessing He's securing you in.... before you bust through it to have it your way. For the next time you... compare yourself to her. disappoint yourself. doubt your worth. fear not measuring up. stress the small stuff. wonder why you're still single. ...remember this: You were made in His image. "So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." Genesis 1:27 NLT Let's break that down. 1. MADE - intentional, with purpose and plan. Not an after thought. Not a mistake. Which means also not discarded or forgotten. 2. IN - not out, contrasting, or a detraction from. Not lessening over time, decreasing in quality or value, but from the very core of God you were forged as a prized possession then held near forever with love and care. 3. HIS - He loved you so much He wanted you to look just like Him, sound like Him, love like Him, take pleasure and create like Him. So He would have an inseparable bond with you, and be near you, for all time. Why would He distance Himself when He went to such great lengths to draw you close? 4. IMAGE - What is God like? What character does He possess? What attributes describe His nature? Constant. Loyal. Loving. Protector. Provider. Creator. This list could fill the oceans if each drop were one word. And He has made you like Him. Which means we feel anxious when we are far from his constancy, but are grounded again when we draw near and likewise become constant again. We question His loyalty when we forget His heart, but once reminded, follow in suit and become like Him by devotion. We lack love when we, for ourselves, try to gain what only He can give freely. But when we remember we are His and the Love He has as Father, Savior + Friend, we begin to love as He loves, because we no longer expect our love from anyone but Him. Draw near to His heart and be reminded of Whose you are and what He is like to love you so. You'll not be so dissuaded by the lies that once sounded true. #savoringsingle #genesis #madeinHisimage

The -have I screwed up my life- things. The -will it ever work out- things. The -I meant to follow through but didn't- things. The -altar call promises that never held weight- things. The -heart desires but lacks discipline- things. The -tried hard but shouldn't have tried at all- things. The -striving when I should have rested, fixed when I should have trusted, pushed when I shouod have waited- ...things. Grace for broken pieces. Beauty again after it all fell apart. Every time. Every time. Listen to #defender by #upperroomworship. But don't just listen. Soak. Fall apart. And let the Love of Christ and His Presence piece you back together again, beautiful one. #savoringsingle
