“It is to your advantage to be wise. But to ignore the counsel of wisdom is to invite trouble into your life.” Proverbs 9:12
If ignoring counsel means trouble, imagine the benefit of heading it; the exact opposite of trouble! It is good for us to remember the God behind the wisdom being shared in Proverbs. We can see into His heart for us by the tools He is giving us to help direct our lives.
We easily point the finger at God when circumstances don’t go our way, if not Him, we accuse the devil. By this we shrink our limitless God and/or magnify an already defeated enemy. When all the while, sometimes the trouble in our lives is simply because we didn’t listen to His advice on how to conduct the affairs of our lives.
If there is an area of trouble in your life, I would encourage you to look deeper to see the root cause.
God’s Word is filled with every answer we could ever need, but we must seek to find, read to understand, pray to hear.
The only way to live this life well is to “come to the One who has living-understanding (9:10).”
Deeper relationship with Christ = more wisdom.
More wisdom = less trouble.
